Ayurvedic & Yogic treatment of Cough & Cold � by Ayurvedic Center New York

Summery - People tend to suffer from cold and cough with the change of season. Its always more in winter. This is an irritating condition which is not fatal but if neglected for more time, it can create complications. Aggravated cold get converted into pneumonia, bronchitis, asthma and sometimes T.B. According to Ayurveda, there is so many Ayurvedic remedies to treat common cold and cough. Yog has a very good step to get rid of this very common but dangerous problem.
The most common signs and symptoms of cold and cough are the running nose, sneezing, head becomes heavy, sore throat, cough with mucus. Usually gold and cough lasts for three days and the entire foreign matter flows out by a natural process. This is a natural cleaning process of the body. But if its if it persists much longer, then it has to be treated.
Causes
The most common causes of cold and cough are drinking a lot of cold drink including water, eating frozen fermented and greasy food. Irregular routine, improper digestion and having bad meal is the another cause of cold and cough.
Treatment according to Ayurveda
Make tea of Black Pepper, Ginger, Clove, Basil powder and Vasa(Acorus calamus). Drink that tea 2-3 times in a day. Also while making the tea, take the vapours of that tea.
Take Amla (Emblica Officinalis) tablet, 2 tab. Twice in a day.
Chitrak Hiritiki 10 gram twice in a day with warm milk.
Vyoshadya powder 3 gram twice with warm water after meal.
Sitopladi churana 2 gram, twice with honey.
Favour - Drink plenty of fluid like water, orange juice, amla juice, Chicken soup.
Avoid - Cucumbers, Sweet potatoes, zucchini, Avocados, Bananas, Coconut, Dates, Fresh figs, Grapefruit, Red meat, Seafood.
Treatment according to Yog
These asans are beneficial in curing cold and cough. Suryanamaskar, Konasan, Ushtrasan, Supta Vajrasan, Dhanurasan, Bhujanasan.
Pranayam ' Kapal Bhati & Bhastrika Pranayam are the main Pranayam to cure this disease. Practice these Pranayams for 10-15 minutes daily and you will feel difference very quick.
